Copehagen

This weekend it was Nations cup in Copenhagen. On Wednesday morning we loaded the horses and went off to Copenhagen. We only have 2,5 hours there, I was driving and Peder was sleeping. The showground is in the middle of the city, so it was my first time driving the lorry in a big city. It was Danny, Holliday and Arctic I had with me. The horses jumped fantastic the whole weekend. Danny was jumping the small tour 1,40 and he was placed 3rd the first day, had one down in the jump off the second day and was placed 6th in the final. Holliday won a 1,45 the first day and was 10th in 1,50. Arctic was clear in 1,50 the first day and clear in the first round in nations cup, jens and rolf were also clear så sweden was in the lead. Sadly Douglas was eliminated in the second round, the team got eliminated and Arctic didn't have to jump the second round. In the Grand Prix he had one down, but jumped really good. You can't be anything but satisfied when the horses toghter only have two down on a whole weekend.

Now I am getting my riding pants on and out to the stable to ride Chicago a little bit.

The sun is shining

It's been a lovely day today at Grevlunda, the sun has been shining the whole day. Peder has jumped the horses today and as always when it is jumping day it's been a really busy day. Tomorrow we're going to a show in Henriksdal so I have packed the stuff and given the horses a bath, there were so dirty after they've been out and rollig in the paddocks. Peder actually helped me a little bit, he gave Sibon a bath and clipped Sparvens mane. In Henriksdal he is competing Sparven she's doing her first show ever, Sibon Peder and Sibons first show together, Malte who has'nt been do a show since olympia so I think he will be really fresh and Chicago. Now I have to go to bed, we're leaving the stable 06.20 tomorrow morning!

Home from Italy!

First I want to tell you that I have got my license to drive the lorry! I've got it the same day we left for Arezzo, so I could help Sofia to drive a little bit. I had four horses with me to Arezzo, Arctic, Chicago, Danny and Holliday. Italy was really nice, great weather it was like swedish summer and many of my friends who groom for the other riders were there. Peders horseowner Astrid bought a new horse for Peder there a 7-year old gelding, Sibon. Overall the horses were doing well in the competition, Holliday were 8th in the Grand Prix Qualifyer 1,45 and Arctic was jumping the Grand Prix with two down, but he looks really fresh.

On the way home from Italy I got ill and I've lost my voice, now I'm better but I've been home at my parents place for a few days for recovery. Tomorrow I go home to Grevlunda and on friday we are going to Henriksdal on a show, I think Sparven is going to do her first show there.

Lovely weather!

Late last night Rebecca came back from Skyrup with six of the horses, Jenny goes on for one more weekend with the tree five year olds. We had a nice and quiet day today, Malin came to ride Tore and Räven thats jumping in Paris this weekend. The horses that came back from the show had a nice day off and was enjoing the nice weather out in the fields! I unpacked the lorry and then packed it again so now I'm ready to leave for Paris tomorrow. I'm gonna make the first stop at Maria Gretzer place, then I' ll continiue on to Christan Ahlmanns stables in Germany were I will team up with his groom and one of my oldest friends Emma for the last bit to Paris. Home alone!

Or at least almost, on wednesday afternoon fourteen horses left Jonstorp for Skyrup in the south of Sweden. So the only ones left at home is Tore, Räven, Tamina and me!
I had a nice week- end except for the wind thats been horrible, the door to stable fell off yesterday and today I had to clean the outdoor from about a hundred branches before I could start to ride. The horses have at least been behaving well, even though they have been very fresh in the wind!
In Skyrup things have also been going well. For the young horses its the first time showing outdoors and the first time jumping 1,20. Both Malin and Jenny seems to be very happy with them, the goal this year is to try to qualify them for Falsterbo.
The older ones have also been doing good, Malin said the ring is huge so it must be quite a difference from jumping inside! '
I continiued my clipping mission and now Tore and Räven are looking good and ready for Paris!

Jumping outdoors

Today it was time to jump outdoors for the first time this year so we moved the fences from the indoor to the outdoor ring. Malin jumped Cisco (in the picture) and Uffe who both behaved well and jumped really good! Jenny jumped the five year olds Challe and Olle and they also did really well and even jumped the water without hesitating!
I clipped the last two horses thats jumping in Skyrup next week so now they are all finally done!

Finally spring!

Today I managed to clip another three horses and Jenny did one so now its only two more to go before the whole stable is looking tip top!
All the snow and ice is gone now so we can ride in the outdoor ring and hack out again, so nice!

Clipping day

Today I clipped three horses, Myran, Cisco and Dunder. They all behaved well and are now looking stunning!
In the next couple of weeks we have got a quite busy schedule. It starts next wednesday when eleven horses leave for Skyrup in the south of Sweden. Malin is riding six horses, Jenny is riding our three five year olds plus her own horse Estelle and Rebecca is also bringing her own horse Valencia.
The following week Jenny stays in Skyrup with the young horses while I go to Paris with Tore and Räven.
The week after that Malin is riding six horses at a national show in Dalby, also in the south of Sweden.
Then we move on to Leipzig and the World Cup final with Tore and Räven, very exciting!
After that its time for the first international outdoor show in Mannheim, Germany and then we continue on to the first nations cup show in Linz, Austria. As you can see its gonna be a little bit crazy for a while!

A good week-end in Den Bosch

We had a really good show in Den Bosch, Tore was placed 10th and 7th in two classes and Räven was 6th in his World Cup debut, he jumped an amazing double clear!
Now we have three really good horses Tore, Räven and Actrice that can jump the biggest classes, not bad!
Den Bosch is probably one of the nicest indoorshows, the only downside is the late nights but with only two horses there I had quite a nice week-end.
On my way down to the Netherlands I also had Turmalin (Tores five year old son) with me. I stopped in Germany to show both him and Tornesch in Oldenburg and they both got approved! Turmalin stayded there over the week-end to take part in a stallion show, and everybody loved him! Picked him up on my way back so now he´s back home with us again.
The best thing when I got back home was that allmost all the snow is gone, finally its starting to feel like spring up here as well!

Off to the Netherlands

Tomorrow its time to leave for the Netherlands. The lorry is packed and the horses had a bath. Malin jumped both Räven and Tore today and they both seemed to be in great shape.
I´m driving down to Danmark tomorrow, then resting there over night to continue down to s´Hertogenbosh early on wednesday morning. Sara

I´m back!

Today I was working a full day for the first time this week, finally starting to feel a bit better!
We got about 15 cm of snow yesterday so its white everywere. The horses seem to enjoy it anyway and were happy to play in the snow. In the picture its Tamina enjoying the sun.
In the afternoon I clipped Räven, its only him and Tornesch thats going to s´Hertogenbosh. I leave on tuesday so I still have a couple off days to recover and to organize everything for the trip. Sara

Snow again

This is what it looked like when I opened the door this morning, and it hasnt stoped snowing yet. In the begining of the week it was almost feeling like spring, but I guess we have to wait a little bit longer now.
Malin jumped three of the horses today, Myran, Uffe and Actrice. They were really good all three, it will be exciting to see them at the shows when the outdoor season starts in a couple of weeks! Sara

Show in Linköping

This weekend the young horses went to a show again, this time in Linköping. On Saturday Malin road Turmalin again and he jumped beutiful. Jenny road the other three Challe, Dunder and Olle and they were all really good, they have really come far in the past couple of months! On Sunday Malin took Uffe and Myran there, and they were both jumping amazing.
I have been really sick for a couple off weeks so I went to the doctor on friday and unfortunatley I have pneumonia so I have been in bed for a couple off days now trying to recover in time for s´Hertogenbosh next week. Sara

Swedish championship

Home from the swedish indoor championships in Helsingborg, we have been there with Arctic, Cissi, Lelle, Danny and Chicago. Arctic and Peder got a bronze medal =) The other horses jumped good, Cissi had jumped the qualifyer and had 2 down there and Arctic was clear and finished fifth in that class. This weekend we have a small show in Dagstorp with Danny and a new 6-year old stallion, 2an.

Next week I have my final test for the lorry license, I hope I get it =) And next friday we're off to Arezzo, Italy!

How to plait a horse.

I got a request to show how to plait a horse so here we go, the topmodel is Tamina! The most important thing is to have a good mane, it can´t be to thick or to long, then it gets very difficult! I also always wash the mane before, otherwise all the dirt comes out. I use a normal hairclip to keep the rest of the hair away, Before I start plaiting i wet the mane to make sure the plait gets really tight, the end of the plait I fold in so all the little hairs don´t stick out. Then i roll the plait all the way up and secure it with another rubberband. And voila, Tamina is now ready to show! I normally make around twenty plaits depending on the horse. Sara

Welcome!

From now on also the blog is going to be in english so all you not swedish ones can follow our daily life in the stables. If theres anything special you would like to read about or if you have any questions don´t hesitate to comment on this page! And I better start off with appologising for my bad spelling, hopefully it will get better over time!
The last big show we did was Gothenburg wich was not very succesfull for us, but thats the way it is sometimes, the horses are having a bit off a rest now and will hopfully be back in form for the next World Cup show in s´Hertogenbosh in two weeks. In the mean time its been time for the young horses to compete, on sunday I drove the lorry to Helena Lundbäcks place only ten minutes away from home. Malin jumped Turmalin the son of Tornesch for the first time on a show and he did a nice clear round! Jenny jumped the other tree fiveyearolds, Challe, Olle and Dunder. They were all good except for Dunder who seemed a little bit chocked, but the second time around he got it and jumped really good!
In the afternoon Malin continiued with Uffe and Myran who both did really nice clear rounds, and Uffe was behaving really well wich is a bit unusual for him!

Scandinavium

Nu är jag på plats i Scandinavium, och första tävlingsdagen är avklarad. Vi åkte hemifrån vid 7 igår och var då framme i Göteborg vid lunch. Gårdagen bestod av att packa upp, besiktiga, Peder trimmade både Cissi och Arctic och när allt var klart var det dags att checka in på hotellet. Jag delar rum med Sara som jobbar hos Malin. Jag har aldrig varit i Scandinavium förut så det är riktigt roligt att få komma hit.

Isag var jag i stallet klockan sex för att kunna gå och äta hotellfrukost vi halv sju, hotellfrukost måste ju vara bland det bästa som finns! Sen trimmade Peder båda hästarna lite och sedan var det lite pyssel innan det var dags att göra iordning Cissi till första klassen. Hon gick en 1,40 hoppning och hon kom 3:a. Sen var det dags för Arctic som också gick 1,40 och han hade 1 tidsfel men hoppade väldigt fint. Sen var det bara att göra klart i stallet, borsta, linda ben, mocka och fylla vatten och sen gick jag och Ida och Karin upp och kollade lite på 1,50 hoppningen och åt popcorn.

Nu är det dags att sova, det blir tidig morgon imorgon också!

Då var vi igång!

Vi kom fram till Göteborg igår vid lunchtid. Packade ur hästarna och alla saker, vilket går på ett kick här för man får hjälp av en massa snälla människor! Sen var det dags för besiktning och på kvällen kom Malin och red. Jag var färdig i stallet vid åtta så då gick jag och installerade mig på hotellrummet som jag delar med Peders groom Malin. Härligt att slippa lastbilen för en gångs skull! I morse var jag uppe och fodrade tidigt för att hinna med frukost innan Malin kom och red klockan åtta. När man väl bor på hotell kan man ju bara inte missa frukosten! Tamina hoppade första klassen, en 140 speed och var femma! I kväll går Tore och Räven, sista klassen börjar 21.10 så det blir en lång dag! Sara

Scandinavium here we come!

I morgon bitti bär det av till Göteborg för Tamina, Tore, Räven och mig. Även Alvar och nanny Hannah ska åka med i lastbilen för det är Alvars födelsedag i morgon och då var önskan att åka lastbil. Blir nog fullt ös hela vägen till Göteborg!
I dag har Malin kört en sista finslipning med hästarna och de verkar redo alla tre. Tamina vet att det är nånting på gång och var riktigt pigg så hon är i alla fall förväntansfull!
Malin hann även med att hoppa Cisco och Uffe. Cisco hoppade superfint och var riktigt lugn och städad, Uffe däremot var lite stökig men hoppade fint som vanligt!
Nu ska jag packa min egen väska och sen är det läggdags, tidig morgon imorrn. Vi hörs i Göteborg!

Tamina till Göteborg!

Tore, Räven och Tamina blir det som får åka med till Scandinavium. Tamina gör sin sista tävling där, sen väntar en välförtjänt pension. Det kommer säkerligen att bli lite ledsamt, hon har ju varit en riktig trotjänare på tävlingarna under många år nu.
I dag har jag i alla fall klippt alla tre hästarna, de hade hunnit bli riktigt långhåriga så det var välbehövligt!
Det var inte riktigt lika kallt i dag så hästarna kunde gå ut i hagarna igen, det ser väldigt härligt ut när de springer runt och busar i snön! Malin hoppade Tamina som såg ut att vara i riktigt fin form. Tore och Räven verkar också vara pigga och i fortsatt fin form efter Bordeaux och Vigo, men de hoppas inget hemma utan får spara på krafterna tills Göteborg. Däremot har Malin hoppat lite mer med Ture, Tores son. Han ser väldigt fin ut och är väldigt lik Tore i många avseenden. Här står de båda två och blir ompysslade.
